As a preliminary first post I just thought I'd share a great story. If you haven't heard yet Gil Meche, of the KC Royals, retired about two weeks ago. When he retired he had $12 million left on his contract, and he told Kansas City to keep it! In the current financial situation he looks like a martyr for a dieing breed of man, but I think he deserves more respect than any other player this off season. Here's to you Mr. Meche, and I hope your story resonates in the minds of some of these guys as we enter the Arbitration period.
